Ceylon Tea as we now know comes in different varieties, which has flavors and aromas unique to itself. Along with the a variety of teas, there are varieties of grades that Ceylon tea has been separated into.

Somerset Estate

Somerset Estate liegt im Dimbula-Tal an den Westhängen der zentralen Hügel Sri Lankas. Dieses Gebiet ist als traditionelles Teeanbaugebiet des Landes bekannt, wo in den 1870er Jahren nach der Kaffeekrankheit erstmals Tee angebaut wurde. In dieser Region produzierte Tees werden im Allgemeinen als „Ceylon High Grown Dimbula“ klassifiziert. Von Januar bis März ist in dieser Region die Trockenzeit, in der hochwertige saisonale Dimbula-Tees hergestellt werden. Das Anwesen besteht aus einer Kombination aus 49 % alten China-Jat-Teesämlingen und 51 % VP-Sträuchern (vegetativ vermehrt), die hauptsächlich aus Qualitätskulturen bestehen. DTI (Drayton 1) und KO 145 (Kirkoswald) produzieren exquisite saisonale Aromatees und haben The Estate den Ruf als eine der meistverkauften Gartenmarken Sri Lankas eingebracht.
