Uva Eyaleti, 1896 yılında kurulan 1.187.335 kişilik nüfusuyla Sri Lanka'nın en az nüfusa sahip ikinci eyaletidir. Badulla ve Moneragala adlı iki bölgeden oluşur. Eyalet başkenti Badulla'dır. Uva, Doğu, Güney ve Orta eyaletlerle çevrilidir. Başlıca turistik yerleri Dunhinda Şelaleleri, Diyaluma Şelaleleri, Rawana Şelaleleri, Yala Milli Parkı (kısmen Güney ve Doğu eyaletlerinde yer alır) ve Gal Oya Milli Parkı'dır (kısmen Doğu eyaletlerinde yer alır). Gal Oya tepeleri ve Merkez Dağları ana yaylalar iken, Mahaweli ve Menik nehirleri ile devasa Senanayake Samudraya ve Maduru Oya Rezervuarları Uva eyaletinin başlıca su yollarıdır.
