Zesta BOPF Premium Tea Bags

Zesta BOPF Premium Tea Bags hold Zesta Premium BOPF black tea in a gold carton of 50 tea bags, with a net weight of 90g. It is a blend of Ceylon tea, portioned so that each bag makes a cup.

BOPF stands for Broken Orange Pekoe Fannings, the small broken pieces of leaf that suit a tea bag well, and the Zesta blend is made entirely from this grade. The tea is handpicked in the up-country tea gardens of Ceylon.

Zesta belongs to Sunshine Consumer Lanka Ltd., a subsidiary of Sunshine Holdings PLC that was known as Watawala Tea Ceylon Ltd. until 2021. The company packs and distributes this tea in Colombo, and the carton carries the Ceylon Tea lion symbol, the Sri Lanka Tea Board mark for pure Ceylon tea packed in Sri Lanka.

Zesta suggests one tea bag to a cup, water at 100°C and a steep of 2-3 minutes before the bag is lifted out. The gold artwork pairs a white teapot and a small jug of milk with a cup of deep amber tea. Keep the box in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, as the maker advises; it opens along a tear strip at the top.
