About this experience
This eight-day tour follows Sri Lanka's wildlife corridor from the rainforest of the south-west through open savannah parks to the south coast. It begins at Sinharaja Forest Reserve, moves on to Yala National Park for safari, then continues to Mirissa and Galle, combining dense jungle, dry-zone grassland and coastline within a short overall distance.
Travellers get a close look at the island's biodiversity: a trek through virgin rainforest with its endemic birds, monkeys and reptiles, a full-day jeep safari in search of leopard, elephant and sloth bear, a stop at a bird sanctuary, a whale-watching excursion off Mirissa, and a walk through the old colonial quarter of Galle Fort.
The tour runs as a private itinerary with a chauffeur guide, so the pace through each park and town is set by the traveller rather than a fixed group schedule.
