Wickramarachchi Labs Suwega is a small Ayurvedic cream for the skin from Wickramarachchi Laboratories of Sri Lanka. Its name is spelt Suvega in English on the box and සුවේගා in Sinhala, and it comes in a white 15g jar with a yellow screw cap, packed in a red and yellow box.
Suwega is made from three ingredients: Dinisuru medicinal oil, sulphur and perfume. It is a preparation for applying to the skin.
Suwega is made by Wickramarachchi Brothers (Pvt) Ltd at Weliweriya in the Gampaha District, the company behind the Wickramarachchi Laboratories name, in use since 1972. The laboratory makes a range of more than 200 Ayurvedic products.
Each box has a printed label with the manufacture date, expiry date and batch number, and the text on the box is in Sinhala, Tamil and English. Suwega is offered as a traditional preparation, not as a medicine.
