The Spa Ceylon Virgin Coconut Comforting Hydrating Face Cream is a facial cream from Spa Ceylon's Ayurveda range, built around virgin coconut oil. The oil is cold pressed at source from fresh coconuts hand-picked in Sri Lanka, and it sits second in the ingredient list, directly after water.
Alongside the coconut oil, the printed ingredients include witch hazel distillate, glycerin, mango seed butter, lemon peel oil, red sandalwood oil, licorice root extract and bees honey, with fragrance and the usual cream base of stearic acid and cetyl alcohol. The carton describes it as a proprietary Ayurveda preparation for external use only.
The cream is a soft ivory colour and comes in a glass jar with a brushed gold lid embossed with the Spa Ceylon name and a flower motif. The jar is packed in a cream and gold carton patterned with coconut clusters and palm fronds.
The directions printed on the pack are to cleanse the skin and wipe it dry, then apply the cream over the face and neck using gentle press and release movements. Blend it in, leave it on, and follow with a sun protective moisturiser. The carton marks a period of 6 months after opening.
It is made in Colombo by Janet Lanka (Pvt) Ltd, the company behind Spa Ceylon. Choose between the 50g and 100g jars.
