Sinharaja Rain Forest Trekking to the Lions Rock

Steeped in mystery and legends and home to endemic flora and fauna, Sinharaja is a tropical rainforest in Sri Lanka and a magnet for nature enthusiasts and adventure seekers. This 10 hour trekking experience is the perfect opportunity to explore, admire and be fascinated by the majestic landscapes that the rain forest is home to. This guided trek takes you atop the Lion Rock which enables you to click photographs of the surroundings.

Note on Transportation:

You can meet our guide at the Deniyaya Entrance of the forest reserve or we can make arrangements to pick you by the Mederipitiya Bridge upon prior notice for an additional fee.

Experience:

The tour begins by meeting the guide at the Deniyaya Entrance of the Sinharaja Forest Reserve or at a point discussed prior to the trek. Our well experienced guide will walk you through trails that show off the richness and diversity, the depths of the forest has in store. This is a 10 hour guided tour which is highly adventurous while you will be trekking under a full canopy of greenery. Since it is a long tour, we will be stopping for quick breaks where you can enjoy some snacks and water. These locations are amazingly beautiful, making them treasure troves for photography enthusiasts.

Somewhere along this adventurous trek, we arrive at the Lion Rock. The rock boasts a small climb and can easily be conquered by anyone. Once you are at the summit, you will be surprised by a 360 degree view which truly calls for you to click some beautiful photographs. Binoculars will also be provided. We will be ending the tour before the sunsets.

Note:

Torrential rain can be expected from time to time while leeches will be found in abundance during the rainy season. Appropriate clothing will help you navigate easily through the rainy weather and also protect you from the leeches. We provide you with leech socks. Rain coats and binoculars will also be a part of the package.
