Sewanagala Ayurveda Dasapanguwa is a box of ten sachets of dried herbs and spices for boiling into a traditional Sri Lankan herbal drink. The bright yellow box is printed in Sinhala, Tamil and English.
Each sachet holds ten ingredients: coriander, katuwelbatu, ginger, elabatu, venivelgeta, pathpadagam, velmee, pawatta, heen araththa ala and pepper. The herbs are washed and dried before packing, ready to go straight into the pot.
To prepare it, add three cups of water to the herbs from one packet, boil well for 10-15 minutes, then strain and drink.
Dasapanguwa is made by Sewanagala Ayurvedic Drugs Manufacture (Pvt) Ltd at Bogaha Junction, Kiriibbanwewa, Sewanagala, Sri Lanka, under the Sewanagala Ayurveda name, in use since 1985. It is offered as a traditional preparation, not as a medicine.
