Naturista Welpenela is a tablet made from the Welpenela plant, known botanically on the packaging as Cardiospermum microcarpum, a climbing vine native to Sri Lanka and long established in the island's Ayurvedic and folk herbal traditions. Each tablet weighs 500 mg, and the bottle contains 60 tablets, making it a practical format for those who incorporate herbal supplements into a regular daily routine.
The Welpenela vine grows across the low country of Sri Lanka, where it has been part of the local plant culture for several centuries. Beyond tablet form, the plant is used in Sri Lankan kitchens and herbal kitchens alike — as an ingredient in herbal porridges and teas, and even sold as a leafy vegetable in local markets. The name Cardiospermum itself refers to the plant's distinctive seeds: large, black, and each marked with a white heart-shaped impression, which explains why the vine is also known in English as Balloon Vine, Love in a Puff, or Heart Seed.
Naturista is a Sri Lankan brand founded in 2018, working with the Welpenela plant as part of a broader catalogue rooted in the country's traditional herbal knowledge. The tablets are manufactured in Sri Lanka and carry a GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) certification, as printed on the packaging — a quality-process standard applied to the manufacturing environment and procedure.
The product is a herbal dietary supplement, not a registered medicine, and should be understood in that context. Pregnant or nursing mothers, and anyone currently receiving long-term medical treatment, are advised to seek guidance from a medical professional before use. Tablets should be stored in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
