Mc Currie Black Pepper Corn is whole dried black pepper (Piper nigrum) in a 100g pouch. The berries are dark, wrinkled and hard, with a sharp, warm bite that comes through most when they are freshly cracked or ground.
Whole peppercorns keep their aroma longer than ground pepper, so you can grind only what a dish needs. The maker's dry range is cleaned and graded before packing, and the pouch is vacuum packed.
In the pack
- Whole black peppercorns, 100g
- The pack lists the ingredient as black pepper
- The pouch carries the line "ISO 22000 Food Safety System Certified"
In the kitchen
- Drop a few whole corns into vegetable curries such as pumpkin or potato curry
- Crack them over fried eggs, soups and stir-fries
- Grind them fresh for pepper chicken or a black pepper beef curry
Storage
Keep the pouch tightly closed in a cool, dry place away from sunlight, and use a dry spoon.
