MA's Kitchen Cardamom Whole is a 25g pack of green cardamom pods, often called the queen of spices. The maker selects the pods for a fragrant, sweet and complex flavour that suits both sweet and savoury cooking.
In Sri Lankan kitchens, whole cardamom goes into curries, rice dishes and spiced tea, and it is just as useful in desserts and baking. Lightly crushing the pods before use releases the seeds and their aroma; for a stronger flavour, grind the seeds to a powder. Whole pods keep their fragrance well, so you can grind only what you need.

How to use
For curries and rice, lightly crush two or three pods and add them to hot oil with the other whole spices at the start of cooking. For tea, drop a crushed pod into the pot as it brews. For desserts and baking, split the pods, remove the black seeds and grind them finely just before use. Remove whole pods before serving if you prefer.
