Belimal tea is one of the oldest everyday herbal drinks in Sri Lanka, and this is the Fadna version in tea bags. It is made from the dried flowers of the beli tree (Aegle marmelos, also called bael), and many Sri Lankan families still drink it in the evening in place of ordinary tea.
What is in it
- Dried beli flowers (Aegle marmelos)
- No tea leaf, so it is naturally caffeine-free
How to make it
Put one bag in a cup, pour over freshly boiled water and leave it for three to five minutes. The cup is pale amber with a light floral smell. It is usually drunk plain, hot or cooled.
In the pack
20 g: 10 tea bags.
Read the label before use, and ask a doctor or an Ayurvedic physician first if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, taking medication or under medical care.
Fadna herbal teas are made in Sri Lanka by Food and Nature (Pvt) Ltd of Pannipitiya, near Colombo.
