About this experience
Set off from Balapitiya at 7:30 AM in a private, air-conditioned vehicle with your English-speaking chauffeur guide for a seven-hour sweep through Sri Lanka's capital. The route covers the National Museum, one of Colombo's largest street markets, and the Gangaramaya Temple, plus the Clock Tower lighthouse designed by Lady Ward, the Prison Cell of the last Sri Lankan King, Galle Face Promenade with its World War II cannons, Colombo Harbour, the scenic Beira Lake, Nelum Pokuna Theatre, Dewatagaha Mosque, Vihara Mahadevi Park, and Colombo Town Hall.
The tour rounds off at Galle Face Green as the sun drops toward the Indian Ocean. Hotel pickup and drop-off from Balapitiya and local taxes are included; entrance fees to the National Museum and Gangaramaya Temple, meals, and personal expenses are not. Comfortable walking shoes are recommended. Minimum age is five, and the tour runs privately for your group.
