Chandanalepa Night Cream is a 40g face cream for evening use from Chandanalepa, the Sri Lankan Ayurvedic cosmetics brand best known for its sandalwood cream. Hibiscus and savendara are the two botanicals named on the front of the pack.
The listed ingredients are niacinamide (vitamin B3), vitamin E, panthenol (vitamin B5), hibiscus, savendara (Vetiveria zizanioides) and hyaluronic acid. Savendara is the Sinhala name for vetiver, the fragrant-rooted grass.
The cream comes in a white jar with a deep-red lid and a red hibiscus line drawing, inside a textured cream carton patterned with red hibiscus flowers. The carton text is printed in English, Sinhala and Tamil.
Chandanalepa is made by Sanjeewaka Ayurvedic Products (Pvt) Ltd at Udammita, Veyangoda, in Sri Lanka, whose original sandalwood formula dates back to 1948. The night cream is for external use only, and use should stop if irritation or allergy occurs.
