Battler Green Elephant is a pure Ceylon green tea, packed into convenient tea bags and sold under both the Battler and Elephant brand identifiers. The sole ingredient is single-origin Ceylon green tea, grown and packed entirely in Sri Lanka, with no additional flavourings or blending from other origins declared. The carton carries the Ceylon Tea certification, which is administered by the Sri Lanka Tea Board and requires assessment of blending, packing, and warehouse practices before a registered exporter may use the mark.
The manufacturer describes the tea's profile as clean and refreshing, with delicate vegetal notes. Each tea bag is individually foil-sealed to protect the tea before the bags are packed into the carton, a detail that matters for freshness when a box sits in a cupboard over months of use. The larger of the two available pack sizes contains 100 tea bags at a net weight of 200 g, with each bag holding 2 g of tea; the smaller pack contains 25 bags at 50 g.
Brewing is straightforward: one tea bag per 200 ml of water, brought to 85°C rather than a full boil, and left to steep for two to three minutes. Green tea brewed at a lower temperature than black tea is a common practice, and the specific temperature and time are printed on the packaging itself. Once the steep is complete, removing the bag promptly keeps the flavour within the profile the manufacturer intends.
The product is registered with the Sri Lanka Tea Board as a Ceylon Tea export pack, with the packer's registration code printed on the carton. Shelf life from the packed date runs to three years, making this a practical choice both for regular household use and as a gift for anyone with an interest in Sri Lankan tea.
