A 100g kraft pouch of ground heenbovitiya from Ancient Nutra. Heenbovitiya (Osbeckia octandra) is a small purple-flowered shrub that grows wild only in Sri Lanka, and it is a long-standing herb of Sinhala Ayurveda.
The maker says the plant is grown naturally and gathered by small-scale growers. Its leaves and young stems are eaten in Sri Lanka, cooked into porridge (kola kenda) or brewed as a herbal tea. The only ingredient is heenbovitiya powder.

How to use
As printed on the pack: steep one teaspoon of the powder in a cup of boiling water for five to seven minutes, and add honey if you like. The maker also suggests stirring a little into a smoothie or sprinkling it over yoghurt, oats or salad; start with a small amount. Ask a doctor before use if you are pregnant, nursing or on any prescription.
Storage
Seal the pouch tightly after opening and store it in a cool, dry place.
