Horana
Horana, with its Tea plantations, Rubber cultivation and Paddy fields brings about a definite rural setting. But then again Horana is in transformation: commercial ventures and factories have sprung up in Horana at a pace in the last decade. Today, it's a town to establish business.
In the year 2007, The Economic Governance Index (EGI) that surveyed around 5,000 firms from 48 municipal councils ranked Horana highest in the overall index as having the most conducive environment for small and medium scale businesses.
