Sri Lanka Tour Guides are trained and certified by the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA). Those who are trained for touring throughout Sri Lanka are called National Tour Guides whereas guides who are based on location of any of the tourist attractions are called On-Site Guides.

Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA) is the sole authority authorized to issue the National Tour Guide License. Licenses are awarded to the successful participants following a fulltime intensive training course in geography, history, archaeology, culture, nature and wildlife and Buddhism in Sri Lanka running for 4 months and examination.

The certified Sri Lanka Holidays Guides are well trained by the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA) to provide assistance, information and cultural, historical and contemporary heritage interpretation to the foreign tourists visiting Sri Lanka . The certified Sri Lanka Chauffer Guides are competent to handle tourists on organized tours, individual clients, educational establishments at religious, archeological and historical sites, museums, and at venues of other significant interest.

For the benefit of die-hard ornithologists and amateur birders, if required, we are able to provide Sri Lanka National Guides with special interest in the birdlife in Sri Lanka.
