Podi Menike (පොඩි මැණිකේ) Zug Nr. 1006

„Podi Manike“ (was so viel wie „Kleines Mädchen“ bedeutet) ist ein sri-lankischer Personenzug, der vom Bahnhof Colombo Fort zum Bahnhof Badulla fährt. Diese Fahrt ist etwa 300 km lang und gilt als die schönste Zugfahrt Sri Lankas , insbesondere die Strecke von Nanu Oya nach Ella. Die Fahrt dauert etwa 10 Stunden.

Der Zug folgt der Hill-Country-Linie, einer im 19. Jahrhundert von den Briten angelegten Route durch malerische Berge. Die Strecke ist geprägt von Brücken, langen Tunneln, hohen Steigungen und Gefällen.

Der Zug Nummer 1005 fährt von Colombo nach Badulla und der Zug Nummer 1006 fährt von Badulla nach Colombo.
