NHRC Seated Buddha Statue - Lankathilaka

(SKU: LSB1003153) This statue can be seen at Lankathilaka Viharaya, which is a temple that was constructed in the 14th century A.C. under the rule of King Bhuwanekabahu IV. This stunning golden-hued seated Buddha statue stands at a height of 4 metres and serves as the centrepiece of the Buddha image house. This statue is portrayed in the meditative position of Samadhi Mudra, which is also referred to as Dhyana Mudra. Virasana is the posture of the legs, sometimes referred to as Paryankasana. In Sri Lanka, Virasana is by far the most familiar sitting position for Buddha sculptures.
