Whale Watching from Balapitiya on Shared Boat

Experience:

Your adventure begins with a hotel pickup from Balapitiya at 5:00 am, followed by a scenic drive to Mirissa where you will board the shared boat for the whale watching tour. The boat departs at 6:00 am, and the tour lasts approximately 4 hours. The tour will take you to areas where whale sightings are most frequent, and you will have around 1 hour to observe the whales up close. The total duration of the tour is 8 hours, with the return journey to your hotel in Balapitiya.

To minimize disturbance, the boat will approach the whales at a safe distance of at least 300 feet, and the boat’s engine will slow down as it nears the area. The closest the boat can approach is about 100 feet. The naturalist on board will provide informative commentary about the different species of whales and their behavior. Ensure that you do not disturb any of the whales during the experience. After the tour, you will be dropped back at your hotel in Balapitiya.
