Kalubowitiyana Tea Factory
Kalubowitiyana Tea Factory Limited (KTFL) is a government-owned company in Sri Lanka, established on September 30, 1992, under the Ministry of Plantation Industries. The company began commercial operations on August 1, 1994, with the inauguration of its first Cut, Tear, and Curl (CTC) tea factory in Kalubowitiyana, Morawaka.
KTFL operates four tea factories across Sri Lanka:

Kalubowitiyana Tea Factory: Located in Morawaka, this factory specializes in producing low-grown CTC tea.

Derangala Tea Factory: Situated in Derangala, Morawaka, it was rebuilt under KTFL's management and commenced orthodox tea production in March 2000.

Hiniduma Hills Tea Factory: Located in Nattampitiya, this factory contributes to KTFL's diverse tea offerings.

Manikdiwela Tea Factory: Based in Kandy, it produces medium-grown teas, adding to the company's varied portfolio.
These factories collectively support over 4,000 tea smallholders and employ more than 350 individuals, impacting the livelihoods of approximately 10,000 people.
In recent years, KTFL has achieved notable financial success. In the first quarter of 2022, the company reported a revenue of Rs. 583 million and a net profit of Rs. 222 million. citeturn0search7 Additionally, KTFL's Kalubowitiyana Tea Factory has set record prices for its low-grown CTC tea, with a PF1 grade fetching Rs. 2,950 per kilogram at the tea auction held on July 11, 2022.
KTFL is recognized for producing high-quality Ceylon tea, specializing in both CTC and orthodox varieties, catering to a diverse global market.
