ダナギリガラ ラジャマハ ヴィハラヤは、マワネラ沖の人里離れた快適な山にあります。この聖域は、1 世紀半ばにワラガンバ王によって建設されることが認められました。現場の石の彫刻は、この聖域複合施設がさらに古い時代、つまりキリスト教以前の時代のものであることを示しています。聖域に到達するには、367 段の岩段を登る必要があります。

座位の仏像 4 体と立像 6 体が見つかり、これらはすべてまだ最初のキャンディアン様式を守っています。さらに、ルーク・ディサウィの 8 フィートの像も同様に譲歩地で見つけることができます。

同様に、この地域のいたるところに点在する数多くの時代遅れの建造物の滞在を観察することもできます。

ダナギラガラ ラジャマハ ヴィハラヤは、ケーガッラ地域で最も年季の入った崩壊の 1 つとして認識できます。以前は「ワダマナ パバタ」として知られていました。

聖域内で時々見られる彫刻、模型、芸術作品は、キャンディアン時代を物語っています。したがって、ここはキャンディアン時代、たとえばキャンディ王国の金銭的、政治的、社会的側面について理解するのに最適な場所です。
