コロンボ港は、スリランカで最大かつ最も忙しい港であり、南アジアの主要な海上ハブの1つです。港への効率的なアクセスは、貨物処理、物流、海上業務にとって重要です。船舶、貨物、スタッフの円滑な移動を促進するために、港は複数の陸上入口(ゲート)と2つの主要な海上入口(航行チャンネル)を備えています。これらの入口は、港をコロンボの道路、鉄道、海上ネットワークと接続し、効率的な貿易と港湾業務を確保します。

コロンボ港の陸上入口

コロンボ港には、トラック、貨物車両、港のスタッフ、訪問者の移動を管理するために複数のセキュアな陸上ゲートがあります。各ゲートは、コンテナターミナル、貨物取扱エリア、行政区域など、特定の港湾施設へのアクセスを提供します。

主要な港湾ゲート

  1. メインゲート(ゲート01) - 港の主要な入口で、港のスタッフ、訪問者、物流オペレーターが使用します。港の行政および運用エリアへの中央アクセスを提供します。
  2. CICTゲート(ゲート01A) - このゲートは、南港にあるコロンボ国際コンテナターミナル(CICT)へのアクセスを提供します。主にコンテナターミナルの業務と物流サービスに使用されます。
  3. レイデン・バスティアンゲート(ゲート02) - 港の古いアクセスポイントの1つで、港エリアとペタ、フォートの商業地区を結びます。歴史的には貨物および一般的な港の交通に使用されていました。
  4. 輸出ゲート(ゲート03) - 主に輸出貨物の業務に使用されます。輸出用のコンテナと貨物を運ぶトラックは、このゲートを通じてコンテナヤードやターミナルにアクセスします。
  5. セント・アントニーゲート(ゲート04) - 港の運用区域の近くに位置し、港の内部運用およびスタッフアクセスをサポートします。
  6. JCTゲート(ゲート05) - このゲートは、港で最も古く、最も忙しいコンテナターミナルの1つであるジャヤコンテナターミナル(JCT)へのアクセスを提供します。
  7. 新しい港へのアクセス道路ゲート(ゲート06) - コロンボの高速道路ネットワークとの間で貨物輸送効率を向上させるために設計された新しい道路インフラと接続されています。
  8. 鉄道アクセスゲート(ゲート07) - 鉄道を利用した貨物の輸送に使用されます。このゲートは港とスリランカの鉄道ネットワークを接続し、コンテナやバルク貨物が内陸に移動するのを可能にします。
  9. デ・サラムゲート(ゲート08) - 港のサービス車両、貨物の移動、内部物流をサポートする運用ゲートです。

コロンボ港の海上入口

陸上のアクセスポイントに加えて、コロンボ港には2つの主要な海上入口があり、船舶が安全に港に出入りできるようになっています。これらの航行チャンネルは波止場で保護されており、大型船が通行できる十分な深さを確保するために浚渫によって維持されています。

西側入口 – メインチャンネル

  • 深さ:おおよそ16メートル
  • これはコロンボ港の主要な海上入口です。

  • このチャンネルは、国際的な航路を提供する現代的な大型コンテナ船を収容するように設計されています。

北側入口 – 北チャンネル

  • 深さ:おおよそ13メートル
  • 港に出入りするための追加の航行ルートとして機能します。
  • より小さな船舶のために、または交通管理が別のルートを要求する場合に頻繁に使用されます。

両方のチャンネルは波止場で保護されており、航行の安全を確保するために操縦サービスによって監視されています。

About Colombo District

Colombo is the largest city and commercial capital of Sri Lanka. It is located on the west coast of the island and adjacent to Sri Jayewardenepura Kotte, the capital city of Sri Lanka. Colombo is a busy and vibrant city with a mixture of modern life and colonial buildings and ruins and a city population of 647,100.The Colombo Metropolitan Region, defined by the districts of Colombo, Gampaha and Kalutara, has an estimated population of 5,648,000, and covers an area of 3,694.20 km²

Colombo is a multi-ethnic, multi-cultural city. It is the most populous city in Sri Lanka, with 642,163 people living within the city limits. The population of Colombo is a mix of numerous ethnic groups, mainly Sinhalese, Moors and Tamils. There are also small communities of people with Chinese, Portuguese, Dutch, Malay and Indian origins living in the city, as well as numerous European expatriates.

The great majority of Sri Lankan corporations have their head offices in Colombo. Some of the industries include chemicals, textiles, glass, cement, leather goods, furniture, and jewellery. In the city center is located South Asia's second tallest building - The World Trade Centre.

About Western Province

The Western Province is the most densely populated province of Sri Lanka. It is home to the legislative capital Sri Jayawardenapura as well to Colombo, the nation's administrative and business center. Western Province is divided into 3 main districts called Colombo (642 km²), Gampaha (1,386.6 km²) and Kalutara (1,606 km²) districts. As Sri Lanka's economic hub, all the major local and international corporations have their presence in the city and so do all the major designer and high street retailers, so be ready to indulge in some retail therapy in western province.

Universities in the province include the University of Colombo, the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, University of Kelaniya, Open University, Sri Lanka, Buddhist and Pali University of Sri Lanka, General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University and University of Moratuwa .Western province has the largest amount of schools in the country, which includes National, Provincial, Private and International schools.
