Diyasen (දියසෙන්)

Prince Diyasen or Diyasena Kumara is a popular myth in Sri Lankan folklore that is believed to have originated during the Kingdom of Kotte. According to the legend, it was believed that a boy will be born in Sri Lanka after 2,500 years after the birth of Buddha who will go on to become a great king, perhaps the greatest king in the country’s history.

Now, more than 2560 years have gone by since the birth of Buddha and the evident lack of an altruist and just ruler may have turned this legend into a myth.
