NHRC Bronze Samadhi Statue - Abayagiriya - Anuradhapura

(SKU: LSB1003345) During the excavations that took place next to the Abhayagiriya monastery, this solid-cast bronze with particles of gold was found. The image most likely dates back to a time before the second half of the 5th century, as shown by the findings of the experts. This picture exemplifies the artistic principles taught by the Maha Vihara school. It is positioned with the hands in the Samadhi Mudra when seated in the Virasana posture.
