This memorial chronicles the life and vision of the Rt Revd James Chapman D.D., the 1st Anglican Bishop of Colombo, who founded a Collegiate School at Mutwal in 1851. Bishop Chapman established the institution to nurture a native Anglican ministry for the Diocese, which had been established six years earlier. The account spans the College's formative decades at its original Mutwal location, covering significant developments in its educational and ecclesiastical mission.
