Commonly known as bale in English and referred to as stone apple or golden apple in some cultures, Beli (Aegle Marmelos) is a tree that is native to some Southeastern countries and the Indian subcontinent, including Sri Lanka. The tree is considered to be sacred among Buddhists and Hindus, while it's also known for its high potency of nutrients. Belimal, or the Beli flower, has been used in Ayurvedic medicinal practices and among health-conscious individuals due to the many medicinal values it carries.
High in proteins and vitamins, belimal has the potential to relieve fatigue and flush out harmful toxins from one's body while purifying blood. Other benefits include weight loss control, cholesterol control, protection from skin infections, improved digestion, curing irritable bowel disorders, good skin complexion, relieving indigestion, and controlling gastric hyperacidity.
The flowers are collected from home gardens and small-scale farmlands and processed accordingly so that their natural goodness is not harmed in any way. You can simply add a few belimal into a boiling cup of water and let it infuse for a few minutes and enjoy its natural goodness.
