"Elysium & Other Poems" is Rukshan Perera's second collection of poetry, exploring contemporary themes such as politics, religion, poverty, and personal disillusionment. Through his verses, Perera offers a nuanced perspective on the complexities of the modern world, addressing societal challenges, navigating the intersections of religion and contemporary life, and depicting the struggles of those on the margins of society. The collection is a tapestry of empathetic and reflective poetry, inviting readers to contemplate their own experiences in the context of a rapidly changing and sometimes disheartening world.
