Ceylon Tea as we now know comes in different varieties, which has flavors and aromas unique to itself. Along with the a variety of teas, there are varieties of grades that Ceylon tea has been separated into.

شعار الأسد الذي يظهر على عبوات شاي سيلان لا يرمز فقط إلى بلد المنشأ بل أيضاً إلى جودة شاي سيلان. مجلس الشاي في سريلانكا هو المالك الشرعي لشعار الأسد الخاص بشاي سيلان، والذي تم تسجيله في العديد من البلدان في العالم.

استخدام شعار الأسد يخضع للشروط التالية:

يمكن استخدام شعار الأسد فقط على عبوات شاي سيلان الاستهلاكية
يجب أن تحتوي العبوات على 100% شاي سيلان نقي
يجب أن تكون العلامات التجارية التي تستخدم شعار الأسد معبأة في سريلانكا. لا يُسمح للمستوردين والمعبئين الأجانب باستخدام شعار الأسد على عبوات الشاي حتى إذا كانت العبوات تحتوي على شاي سيلان نقي
يجب أن تتوافق العلامات التجارية التي تستخدم شعار الأسد مع معايير الجودة التي حددها مجلس الشاي في سريلانكا
