කොළඹ ලිප්ටන් සර්කස්හි පිහිටි දේවටගහ මස්ජිදය සෑම මුස්ලිම් ගෘහයකම ප්‍රසිද්ධ නාමයක් වී ඇති අතර, කිසිදු මුස්ලිම් භක්තිකයෙකු එම ශාන්තවරයාගේ දේවස්ථානය අසලින් ගරු කිරීමකින් තොරව නොයයි.

වසර 150ක් පැරණි මෙම දේවස්ථානය, අරාබියේ අරෆාත් සිට සිලෝනයට පැමිණ, බලංගොඩ ආදම්ගේ කන්ද නැරඹූ අතර, පසුව Cinnamon Gardens ලෙස හඳුන්වනු ලැබූ ප්‍රදේශයේ වාසය කළ මුස්ලිම් ශාන්තවරයෙකු වූ ශුද්ධවන්ත සෙයිදීනා අස්-ශෙයික් උස්මාන් සිද්දීක් ඉබ්න් අබ්දුර්රහ්මාන්ගේ විශ්‍රාම ස්ථානය වන අතර, එයට සිත්ගන්නාසුලු ඉතිහාසයක් ඇත.

1820 දී පවුලේ එකම ආදායම් උපයන්නිය වූ සිංහල තෙල් වෙළෙන්දියක්, දිනපතාම බම්බලපිටියේ සිට කුරුඳු කැලෑව හරහා මරදාන දක්වා ගමන් කරමින් තම ව්‍යාපාරික ගමනේ යෙදී සිටියාය.

එම කැලෑව තුළදී ඇය කජු ගසක මුලකට අඩිබා වැටුණාය. ඇගේ මැටි භාජනය කැබලිවලට බිඳී ගියේය. “අයියෝ! අයියෝ!” යැයි ඇය කෑගැසුවාය. “අද මගේ පවුලට කෑම නොලැබේවි. මගේ එකම ජීවනෝපාය විනාශ වී ගියා.” ඇය දැඩි දුකින් කඳුළු සැලූ අතර, අතිශයින් වෙහෙසට පත්ව නිදා වැටුණාය. එවිට හඬක් ඇයව අවදි කළේය. එම හඬ ඇයට බිය නොවන්නැයි කියා නැගිටින්නට පැවසූ අතර, ඉක්මනින් සියල්ල හොඳ වන බවට සහතික කළේය. ඇය වටපිට බැලුවත් කිසිවෙකු නොපෙනුණු නිසා නැවතත් කඳුළු සැලුවාය.

නැවතත් එම හඬ ඇයට සැනසිලිදායක වචන පැවසීය. එය විශ්වාස කළ නොහැකි දෙයක් විය, මන්ද එම ඝන කැලෑව තුළ ඇය කිසිදු මනුෂ්‍යයෙකු දැක නොතිබූ බැවිනි. හදිසියේම ඇය කොළ පැහැති වස්ත්‍ර ඇඳ සිටි වයෝවෘද්ධ පුද්ගලයෙකු දුටුවාය. ඔහුගේ පූජනීය පෙනුම ඇයට අතිශයින් ආශ්වාදජනක විය.

“ඔබට බිය වීමට කිසිවක් නැහැ,” ඔහු ඇයට පැවසීය. “මම ඔබේ තෙල් නැවත ලබා දෙන්නම්. ඔබට අවශ්‍ය වන්නේ භාජනයක් ගෙන ඒම පමණයි.”

ඇය මරදානට ගොස්, නිතර ගනුදෙනු කළ මුස්ලිම් පාරිභෝගිකයෙකු වූ මම්මා ලෙබ්බේගේ නිවසට ගොස්, ඔහුගේ මවගෙන් නව භාජනයක් ඉල්ලා සිටියාය. ඇය එවැනි අමුතු ඉල්ලීමක් ගැන විමසූ විට, තෙල් වෙළෙන්දිය “මම ආපසු ඇවිත් මගේ කතාව කියන්නම්” යැයි පැවසුවාය. ඇය භාජනය රැගෙන නැවත කැලෑවට පැමිණි විට, වයෝවෘද්ධ පුද්ගලයා ‘දවට’ හෝ ‘දේවට’ ගසකට හේත්තු වී සිටිනු දුටුවාය. ඔහු ඇයට පළමු භාජනය බිඳුණු ස්ථානයේ නව භාජනය තැබීමට උපදෙස් දුන්නේය. පසුව ඔහු තම පාදය බිමට තද කළ අතර, පුදුමයට කරුණක් ලෙස බිමෙන් තෙල් උතුරා ආරම්භ විය!

ඇය පුදුමයෙන් නිහඬ වූවාය. ඔහු කජු ගසක කොළ කිහිපයක් කඩාගෙන, ඒවා භාවිතා කර තෙල් එකතු කර භාජනය පිරවීමට ඇයට පැවසීය. “දැන් ඔබට නැවත ජීවිකාව උපයා ගත හැකිය,” ඔහු පැවසූ අතර, තම මුස්ලිම් පාරිභෝගිකයින්ට මේ පිළිබඳව දන්වා, ඔහු පෙනී සිටි ස්ථානය පෙන්වීමටද ඉල්ලා සිටියේය. කෘතඥ වූ තෙල් වෙළෙන්දිය ශාන්තවරයාට වැඳ නමස්කාර කර ඔහුගේ ආශිර්වාදය ප්‍රාර්ථනා කළාය.

ඇය ඉක්මනින් මම්මා ලෙබ්බේගේ මවගේ නිවසට ගොස් මෙම ආශ්චර්යයේ කතාව පැවසුවාය. මම්මා ලෙබ්බේ, පෙරියා පිට්චේ, මීරා කානි සහ තෙල් වෙළෙන්දිය ඇතුළු පිරිසක් එම ස්ථානය පරීක්ෂා කිරීමට ගිය අතර, බිඳුණු භාජනය, බිමෙන් වෑහෙන තෙල්, කජු ගස සහ දවට ගස යන ආශ්චර්යයේ සාක්ෂි සොයා ගත්හ.

එම මුස්ලිම් පිරිස යාසීන් සහ ෆාතිහා පාරායනය කරමින් මෙසේ ප්‍රාර්ථනා කළහ: “අනේ වොහියුල්ලාහ් (ශාන්තවරයනි)! ඔබගේ ආශ්චර්යයට සාක්ෂි දැරීමට අපට අවස්ථාව ලබා දුන් අල්ලාහ්ට ප්‍රශංසා වේවා. සර්වබලධාරී අල්ලාහ්, මෙම වොහියුල්ලාහ්ගේ අනන්‍යතාව අපට හෙළි කර දෙනු මැනවි.”

About Western Province

The Western Province is the most densely populated province of Sri Lanka.
