An archaeological relic city, ancient Polonnaruwa is home to some of the most well preserved ruins of the island while its scenic beauty and reverence adds to the entire surrounding making it a must visit site. From palace complexes to a sacred quadrangle, the ruins of temples such as the Gal Viharaya, Pothgul Viharaya, Lankathilakaya and Kiri Vehera along with some Brahmanic monuments that were built by the Cholas during their invasions are to name a few sites that you will visit.

Book your entrance ticket to the ancient city of Polonnaruwa with Lakpura and avoid queues at the counters. There are months that it can be very congested.
