On arrival, step into the Gem Museum to see precious and semi-precious stones — Sapphires, Rubies, and Amethysts among them — displayed alongside the cutting tools and techniques that define the industry.
Beyond the museum, explore the working gem mines that have made Ratnapura famous for centuries. Watch miners sift alluvial gravel and gain a firsthand understanding of how these stones travel from the earth to the jeweller's bench. A bottle of water is provided per person.
