An excitingly rich cultural experience awaits with the Sri Lankan Crafts and Spices Tour from Kandy which allows you to marvel craftsmanship that has been passed through generations and also familiarizing spices that are found in abundance in our tropical paradise. Traditional methods of intricate wood carving and batik creations will let you fall in love with our wonderful heritage that we as Sri Lankans are proud of.

During this tour, you will visit the following points of interest in the specified order.
Experience:
The tour will commence at 9:00 am where you will be picked up from your hotel in Kandy. We then proceed to the first stop on your itinerary, the Euphoria Spice and Herbal Garden in Matale. The Spice tour will commence at 10:00 am where you will be educated about Sri Lankan Herbs and Spices, how to use them accurately, along with how they are grown and processed. You will end the tour with an opportunity to purchase available herbs and spices, fresh off the rack.
Then we head to the Jayamali Batik Factory which you will reach around 12:30 pm. A small scale batik factory involving a few experts and apprentices will showcase the arduous art of batik making and by the end of the tour you will get to purchase some beautiful products made from batik fabrics including clothing items, wall hangers, table cloths etc.
We can have a break for lunch around 1.30 pm while the choice will be yours depending on your budget and the ambience. There will be a few recommendations that our Lakpura representative can offer you as well including Helga`s Folly, Cinnamon Citadel and Mahaveli Reach which offers a mouthwatering menu.
We then head out to the woodcarving centre around 3.00 pm and spend an hour observing the intricate wood carving process done by a few masters of the trade. You will be educated about the types of wood used as well. Accordingly, you will be able to purchase some carved souvenirs made out of wood.
We arrive at the Gem Museum after 4.00 pm and spend an hour and a half learning about the various precious stones in Sri Lanka as well as the gem crafting process. The attached retail shop consists of crafted gems and gem studded jewelry that you can purchase if required.
You will be dropped off at your hotel by about 6:30 pm to end the tour.
