About this experience
The Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic in Kandy is one of Buddhism's most revered sites and a designated UNESCO World Heritage property. Within its gilded, intricately decorated shrine rooms rests the sacred tooth relic of the Buddha, drawing pilgrims and visitors from across the world. The complex dates to the 17th century and carries with it a royal legacy that shaped the cultural and religious history of Sri Lanka.
The guided visit lasts approximately one hour, during which an English-speaking guide walks visitors through the history of the temple, the rituals observed within its walls, and the architectural details that make the complex so distinctive. The tour is open to visitors aged five and above and is conducted in English as a group-format experience organised by Lakpura.
