Plants and Seeds
Plants grow from seeds, which contain the genetic blueprint for a new organism. Seeds require the right conditions—water, soil, and sunlight—to germinate. As they develop, plants produce oxygen, food, and habitats, sustaining life on Earth.

The Lakpura Red Chinese Guava Fruit Plant (Psidium cattleyanum var. cattleyanum), also known as Red Cattley Guava or Strawberry Guava, is a compact, evergreen tree from the Myrtaceae family, native to Brazil but now widely cultivated in tropical regions. Typically growing between 2 to 6 meters tall, it features smooth grey to reddish bark and glossy, elliptical leaves. The plant begins fruiting between 3 to 6 years of age, producing small, ovular fruits about 4 cm long with thin, dark red to purple skin and a sweet, tangy flavor reminiscent of strawberries. Its fragrant white flowers appear singly or in small clusters and mature into antioxidant-rich fruits high in vitamin C. While the fruit is popular for home consumption, it’s rarely commercially marketed due to its short shelf life and susceptibility to fruit flies.
