A spectacular rock formation located within the boundaries of the cultural triangle, Sigiriya which is also known as the Lion’s Rock is a WorldHeritage Site that is visited by many travellers, locals and foreigners alike. This 180 meter high mammoth rock according to historical propaganda was once used as a fortress and palace during ancient times by the kings. Many folklore have been said about the rock while it is also called a palace between myth and legend. The site is surrounded by enormous landscaped and terraced gardens, water ponds while the rock itself is adorned with wall paintings and ruins of a palace that once served the King. Built to represent a Lion, the paws are still well preserved along with various carvings.
The Sigiriya Entrance ticket will be a pass to admit you to this heritage site. It gives you the opportunity to enter the site, roam the magnificent gardens and walk along the path that leads to the rock and even climb up the fortress to the pinnacle. The ticket does not include services of a guide. However, you can obtain these additional services for a nominal fee which can be arranged by our representatives at Lakpura. This will be a separate fee.
