About 2 1/2 - 3 hours away from Colombo and then just over an hour's drive from the Peradeniya Botanical Gardens, the Windloft Retreat is located in the Kandyan hill country above Delthota. The property is a mere 2 hour drive away from the tea capital of Nuwara Eliya while the sceneries that you pass through are breathtakingly beautiful. Travellers can hire a cab or rent out a vehicle from the International Airport in Katunayake or take the train to Peradeniya or Kandy and travel up to Delthota.

Set above the beautiful Delthota Valley, the Windloft Retreat consists of 8 luxury guestrooms with a variety of views. The valley which is about 1000m below can be viewed from your room while the surroundings are always breathtaking. All rooms offer wide glass panel windows while you can step out of your balcony to breathe in the fresh mountain air. Other facilities include running hot/cold water, a mini bar, complimentary tea / coffee making facilities, a telephone and room service.

The Windloft Retreat provides guests with authentic Sri Lankan spicy curries and rice dishes which are the most recommended. With a number of Windloft specialties, there is also a selection of dishes from around the world. The retreat is also a great off-site location for corporate meetings or private outings in seclusion. You can plan your meetings either in the conference room or the restaurant. Windloft Retreat also boasts of an entertainment room with a bar and a pool table. There is also an ornamental pool as well as a manmade lake surrounded by trees below the building where you can relax to your heart's content.

The Windloft Retreat has also started a programme which intends to reinstate forest cover which once existed. It will restore the perennial water flow in streams, recreate habitat for biodiversity as well as regenerate corrupted mountain soil. The surroundings also include fruit, vegetable and flower gardens, a plant nursery and a fernery.
