Relax in a chair or sit at a table turned out by craftsmen using recycled timber from discarded railway sleepers. The bathrooms are finished in rubble stone and include a separate shower with hot and cold water.

Located less than an hour's drive away from Kandy surrounded by tea plantations and well manicured lawns, the Tea Cottage Resort and Spa is found in Nawalapitiya. Travel time from Colombo adds up to about 3 - 4 hours while the Nawalapitiya town centre is about 5km away from the resort. If you are seeking public transportation, there are buses from Kandy while the Nawalapitiya Train Station is also about 5km away. The estate spans for about 200 acres of land.

Offering beautiful views of the Mahaweli River and mountains beyond, these spacious cottages consists of its own private living area. There is a balcony with amazing views while you can also enjoy your breakfast here. The rooms comprises of polished wooden floors, elegant timber furniture while the bathrooms are finished in rubble stone along with a separate shower and an oversized bathtub with hot and cold water. Other facilities include a king sized bed, TV / lounge area, open to sky bathroom, 32' LCD television, mini bar, in room safe, hair dryer, toiletries, free Wi-Fi facilities and complimentary tea/coffee making facilities.

Family Cottages

Again offering guests beautiful views of the river and its surroundings, the family cottages are bright and airy. From recycled timber chairs made of discarded railway sleepers to bathrooms with rubble stone and a separate shower, the family cottage also offers a balcony/veranda, queen sized bed, 32" LCD TV, mini bar, in-room safe, hair dryer, toiletries, free Wi-Fi, complimentary tea/coffee making facilities and complimentary bottled water.

The restaurant at the Tea Cottage Resort and Spa is elegantly designed and is built on a small elevated land area that overlooks a beautiful sight. Guests can savour a wide range of cuisines that include Sri Lankan, Continental and Far Eastern dishes. A number of signature dishes are also available along with specialty tea soups and sauces. Guests can enjoy fine dining, open air deck dining options, cosy dining on bean bags, romantic dining as well as an a la carte menu with the widest choice of dishes. A bar is to be introduced soon and until then guests are allowed to bring in their own alcoholic beverages.

A Jacuzzi and a swimming pool will be introduced soon as well while the resort also consists of a book and DVD library. Board games are also available for guests to spend time having fun with friends and family.
