Coconut Toffee (පොල් ටොෆි)
In the new year season, we make a lot of sweets. Among them, as per the new tradition Pol toffee holds a special place. A lot of people buy Pol toffees from sweet shops for the new year season. Do you know it is very easy to make pol toffee at home? This is the recipe for very tasty pol toffee.
- 300 Grams Grated Coconut
- 400 Grams Condensed Milk (1 Can)
- 60 Millilitre Water
- 16 Grams Butter
- 1 Teaspoon Food Colouring (Orange)
- 2 Teaspoon Vanilla Essence
- 100 GramsSugar
First butter the tray, a knife to cut, a spatula to level the Coconut toffee mixture and another spatula to use for finishing touches. Add the grated Coconut in to a saucepan on a medium heat and fry for 5 minutes. Lower the heat a little bit and add the Sugar, water and the Condensed Milk in. Mix continuously for 4 minutes. Now add the butter and mix well. At this point, increase the fire to medium heat again.After 2 more minutes add the vanilla and combine well. The mixture is getting thicker now. In another 4 minutes, add the food colouring and mix well. Keep stirring for another 7 minutes to get to the right Coconut Toffee consistency.Now transfer the mixture on to the buttered tray. Level and add finishing touches with the buttered spatulas. This delicious Coconut Toffee is ready to be served now, enjoy!
