Madhuca neriifolia
Madhuca neriifolia is a deciduous tree growing about 10 metres tall. All parts of the plant yield a latex if wounded The tree is harvested from the wild for local use as a source of food, medicine and mateials. Madhuca neriifolia is widespread and frequently described as common within riparian habitats across the Western Ghats. There appear to be no major threats to the species, although in some places anthropogenic pressures have caused the conversion of riparian habitats. It is recommended that this situation is monitored but presently the population is considered to be mostly stable. The plant is classified as 'Least Concern' in the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species
