Dunvila Cottage surrounded on three sides by the enchanting Dunvila Lake splattered with lotus is a back to the nature, eco-oriented tourist lodge located within 500 meters from the all green boundaries of Wasgomuwa National Park. Dunvila cottage itself is well sheltered and shaded by old Tamarind trees. Wasgomuwa jungles, Knuckles Mountain Range and Sudu Kanda Mountain Range complement the breathtaking landscape over the Dunvila cottage.
The cottage, with respect of the wildlife, is so well located, herds of elephants grazing in the Wasgomuwa National Park is often spotted. Dunvila Lake having brought sanctuary of a waterbody to the birdlife, over 150 species of birds have been recorded. Among the species in the area, rare spot-bellied eagle owl, red-winged cuckoo and blue-eared kingfisher are seen.
