About this experience
This private tour links the misty hills of Ella with the serene shores of Hiriketiya, weaving an Udawalawe safari into the journey. Collected from Ella at midday, you travel through Sri Lanka's scenic south — past lush tea plantations, rolling hills and charming villages — to reach Udawalawe, one of the country's most famous wildlife reserves.
At around 2.30pm you begin a four-hour safari across grasslands, dense forests and serene lagoons in search of leopards, elephants, sloth bears, crocodiles and a wide array of birds. As the sun sets, the adventure winds down and you continue to Hiriketiya, arriving around 7pm to golden sands and ocean breezes — a perfect close to the day.
