About this experience
Der Tempel der Heiligen Zahnreliquie in Kandy ist einer der verehrtesten Orte des Buddhismus und ein ausgewiesenes UNESCO-Weltkulturerbe. In seinen vergoldeten, aufwendig dekorierten Schreinen ruht die heilige Zahnreliquie des Buddha, die Pilger und Besucher aus aller Welt anzieht. Der Komplex stammt aus dem 17. Jahrhundert und trägt ein königliches Erbe in sich, das die kulturelle und religiöse Geschichte Sri Lankas geprägt hat.
Die geführte Besichtigung dauert etwa eine Stunde. Während dieser Zeit führt ein englischsprachiger Guide die Besucher durch die Geschichte des Tempels, die in seinen Mauern beobachteten Rituale und die architektonischen Details, die diesen Komplex so unverwechselbar machen. Die Tour ist für Besucher ab fünf Jahren geöffnet und wird in englischer Sprache als Gruppenführung organisiert von Lakpura durchgeführt.
