Costus speciosus (Thebu Kola)
Costus speciosus (Thebu Kola; තෙබු කොළ) is an important medicinal plant widely used in several indigenous systems of medicine for the treatment of various ailments. The rhizome of these plants are used as an alternative source for diosgenin and generally used to control diabetes.
Having a natural concentration of Corosolic acid, Insulin plant can have a positive effect on blood sugar level. Corosolic acid works in metabolism of glucose process like insulin that reduces blood sugar level by transporting glucose into cells and out of the bloodstream.
